A friend of mine said the other day that she hopped that the electoral college wouldn't vote the way the states said but would vote for Clinton instead. I pray that this doesn't happen there will be revolution if it does. People with guns fighting in the street. She is not a dumb person she just hates Trump and doesn't think that he is fit to be president. I don't think that he should be either but he was elected. She thinks that the electoral college should be scrapped. I agree it is not needed any more. If it isn't scrapped I think proportional voting should be mandated. Each states electoral votes shou reflect the percentage for each candidate. For this election
I think that the total vote, which is two and a half million for Clinton is a red herring. California and New York, the two largest states, is abought four million in her favor. Trump didn't campaign in either of these states, because he knew that neither of these states would get enough republican votes to carry the state. Having lived in California I know that many republicans don't vote because they feel that their vote doesn't count. I am sure that it is much the same in New York. If you then take into account that the strongly democratic states like Oregon Washington and others you get places were the republican vote is seriously under counted. The fact that Trump didn't campaign in these states means that there is a bigger Under count of voter that would have voted republican in California and New York than the two and a half variation. So I believe that the popular vote would have been close to or the same as the electoral college had Trump and Clinton campaigned in all of the states.
I think that Clinton under stood this which is why she has not made a big issue of her wining the popular vote. I also think that we should require proportional voting in the electoral college.
