Waterloo Pinkney trail day two

Day two return to Big Portage Lake from the Pines campground. We had a good walk out it sprinkled just a little, but not enough to make us put on our rain gear. It was over cast but humid and not too hot.
Just west of the Pines there were black berry bushes and Tammy and I ate quite a few. We headed north when we should have headed west but we figured out our mistake and we were able to find our way back to the trail with out too many extra miles
Tammy and I found blackberries most of the day. Tammy accidentally ate a caterpillar that bit her tongue.

Waterloo Pinkney trail

Well we are hiking a section of the Waterloo Pinkney trail. It's a 36 mile hike in Southern Michigan.
It rained and so our feet got wet. Tammy's feet are hurting her. she keeps changing stuff trying to figure it out but not got it yet.
The map got wet but we should be able to find our way home with it's soggy mess.

Roof being done

Hi We spent the last week finding some one to do our roof. So today we have our roof being done by ARM contruction. They seem to ge good people and are working hard.

Drew and Rachel are married

Yesterday Drew and Rachel got married They wanted a civil service, so they had it at the court house in Grand Haven The service was nice and simple but moving. The families auto separated Drew's on the right and Rachel's on the left.
We then went to the Kerby house for pizza. Tammy and I sat with Rachel's family. We heard a bunch about the family and their trucking business.

We then went to the beach and saw the sun set.
It was a good day.

Trip to Seattle

Couger

Well the trip was good the flight left ten minutes early and we got to Seattle early and unlike AZ we got to the gate and got off quickly. Dave and Terry have been great hosts and we are having a good time Terry and Tammy went shopping for kid shirts and bought a mariner shirt for each kid. Dave and I talked politics he is quite liberal and seems to have bought into the story that CNN is telling. There is a great divide in America and I find myself on the republican side.

Sausalito Ferry

Trip to SF on the Sausalito ferry.

This is a wonderful ferry ride with views to many of San Francisco. You go by Alcatraz and get good view of the bay bridge and golden gate bridge, the terminal is just off the farmers market which is a lively place to do some shopping.

Maxine, John, Tammy and I had a good time. Walking around and had Chines food  in the farmers market and coffee at peets just before getting on the ferry to go home.

This is a nice half day.

AZ St. Anthony's Monastery

Went to St Anthony's Monastery.( https://www.stanthonysmonastery.org/index.php) It is  located 8 miles south of Florence, Arizona, off Highway 79. There are seven chaples. They are quite impressive.. I estimate that there are several million dollars of buildings there and they are quite beautiful inside as well as outside.
