Thanks Giving 2017

Well we had a big crew 11 adults and 3 grandkids. The noise level was high enough that I felt that I should have been wearing hearing protection. Ninety percent of the noise was the grand kids. Toby and Aaron followed by cute little Lila were yelling (screaming would be a better description), and running around the loop and up and down the hall.  It was cute Though I found my self telling them to use their inside voices.

Every one seemed to get along well and though we made it clear that there were other places they could go the all grouped up in the living room.

Toby and Aaron are visiting

Toby and Aaron are visiting. They are on the edge of crazy or as David sais they are Cray Cray. Tammy and I have noticed that they take a bit to calm down. Well maybe they won't calm down. Well I have to go play Candy Land. Write more later.

Well Later is the next morning. Tammy is in the living room with the kids they are playing Candy Land. Well sort of they are not playing according to the rules. It appears that imagination trumps the rules. Tammy is so much better at this than I am she is able to let her imagination flow and work with them in away I can't.

Ringling Circus close

Circus logo

Well in may of 2017 the Ringling brothers circus closed. It had been in operation for for 146 years. I found that it saddened me. I remember as a kid that it came to Idaho Falls. They actually paraded down main street. Across the bridge and through town. Dad took me to watch them put up the tent. It took a long time and my attention span was not that long so I found it boring except for the part were they pulled up the tent using a truck. They had elephants, but they were stares not work animals.

Reid Lake Hike

Reid Lake

I am sitting on the shore of Reid Lake as the sun is rising. The lake was as smooth as glass until a minute ago when there was a low boom to the east an tn a big splash in the middle of the lake.

Well the ripples have mostly gone away but you can see a shimmer that shows that something has disturbed the lake.

I see little rings were something is coming up to feed and just now another splash and some sort of water bird. I think it is a loon but I can't see well in the half light of the early morning.

Pickiney

Went camping at Pickiney cool but dry we had a good time. David was thrilled about all the interconnected lakes. Walked a short trail and saw the mushroom in the attched photo. I thought it was a neet looking mushroom.

AT thoughts

I wanted to hike the Appalachian trail when I was in highschool. One thousand two hundred miles. At 63 I find that I have no interest in the group scene that is talked about. It seems that many of the people doing the AP are recent college grads doing the trail before their first job. I would have liked to have done this myself, but I had to pay off my college so I started work a Bechtel Power

Alaskan Airlines Great Service

Alaskan Airlines

We just flew back from Kennewick Washington the three hour flight arriving at Detroit at five am, was uneventful. The service on the was good and the stewards were friendly and nice. The only issue was the checked bag was damaged. When we got it back there was a hole rubbed in the front of the bag. My guess is that it slid off the track and got rubbed on a drive roller. I looked for a person at the baggage claim center but there was no one there. So we went home hoping that we could get some one on the phone and resolve the issue.

Trump Jr Russian meeting

All the news talks about is the meeting that Trump Jr had with a Russian. The meeting was to discuss some dirt that they had on Hillary Clinton. The press keeps talking about how this is breaking the law, but the problem is that they didn't actually collude with them and thow we are not actually at war with them.
If we were told that someone had proof that someone had done something illegal most of us would not care were it came from.
I remember that Nixon was impeached not because he had anything to do with the water gate breakin but because he tried to hide it..
